Today I finished making the scarf joints. I drilled holes to use bolts to attach the two pieces together inside Gemini. The door frame cutout did not take long. Tomorrow is the big day; I am going to see whether all the pieces fit nicely in the boat. Click on post title to see photo.

Rough Going Today
I bought two 4×8 sheets of Okuma marine grade plywood at Exotic Lumber in Annapolis. The rest of the day was spent trying to get the measurements right for the aft head partition. I made a lot of marks on the plywood only to get to the end of the day and realize that I wasted the day. The measurements weren’t good enough to move forward. Buster helped me by telling me how to use a scribe (compass) to make a template. Thank heavens the weather was perfect.
Deciding on the Aft Head Partition
Today, I spent much of the day measuring all the layers that will become part of the wall between the passageway and the aft head. I decided to go with Formica on both sides.
Getting Started
On June 6, 2017, I quit my job and began the refit of Gemini full-time.
